Yang pernah mengajukan Visa di Kedutaan Amerika pasti punya banyak pengalaman akan sulitnya mendapatkan selembar kertas yang akan ditempel di paspor kita. Ada yang mudah tanpa wawancara yang bertele-tele, tapi banyak juga yang menyebalkan. Betapa sulitnya mendapatkan Visa Amerika adalah cerita dibalik ketatnya imigrasi negara ini dalam menyaring para pendatang yang akan berkunjung ke negara mereka. Walaupun sulit, setiap hari ratusan orang rela antri sejak pagi di gerbang Kedubes Amerika di Jalan Merdeka Selatan, sebagian kecil berhasil mendapat Visa, tapi banyak yang harus pulang dengan tangan hampa setelah mengeluarkan uang dan tenaga dengan sia2.  Di bawah ini adalah pengalaman saya yang mudah2an berguna bagi siapa saja yang berniat mengajukan Visa kunjungan baik untuk keperluan bisnis maupun turis, sekedar memberikn gambaran dan persiapan apa saja yang harus ditempuh.

Tasted Vietcong Meal in Chu Chi Tunnel

I had the opportunity to visit Chu Chi tunnel near Ho Chi Minh during my visit in Vietnam after read it in my history books. I think the tunnel is the reflection of Vietnam people spirit’s during the infamous war. It took me about two hours from the downtown to arrive in the location and I had the opportunity to taste the Vietcong meal during the war time. (more…)
